Is Rallypoint free?

Yes. The core is free forever — seeing riders near you, messaging them, dropping meeting points, and joining rides. An optional Pro tier (a few pounds a month) adds social perks: advanced filters, a larger search radius, badges, and planning Ride Outs with a destination, pace and rider cap. You never have to pay to use the app.

Does Rallypoint share my exact location?

No. Other riders only ever see the rough area you choose, accurate to about a kilometre — never your street or exact position. Live location sharing is opt-in only, and hidden mode lets you browse the map without appearing on it at all. More in the privacy policy.

Is Rallypoint safe to use?

Rallypoint is built privacy-first: rough-area location by default, opt-in live location, and a hidden mode. You can block and report other riders, and reported accounts are reviewed. Your exact position is never shown, and the app doesn't sell your data or run ads.

Do I need to download it from the app store?

No. Rallypoint is a web app — open it in your phone's browser and it works straight away. You can install it to your home screen so it opens full-screen like any other app, with no app store, no download wait, and instant updates.

Does Rallypoint track my rides or record routes?

No. Rallypoint is deliberately not a navigation or route-recording tool. It doesn't plot routes, record GPX, or track your rides. It's the social layer — finding riders and organising meetups — and it stays that way on purpose. Bring whatever sat-nav you already use for the roads themselves.

How is it different from Facebook groups?

Facebook groups are built for posting into a feed, so a "riding this weekend?" post gets buried and replies come from riders far away. Rallypoint shows you the riders who are actually near you and lets you contact them directly or drop a meeting point they can join — built for meeting up, not scrolling. More on that here.

Does it cost anything to plan a group ride?

Dropping a meeting point, messaging riders, and joining any ride is free. Planning a Ride Out — a meeting point with a destination, set pace, rider cap and public or invite-only visibility — is a Pro feature, but anyone, free or Pro, can view and join a Ride Out. See the group ride planner.

What area does Rallypoint cover?

Rallypoint works anywhere — it shows riders around wherever you set your area. It's growing fastest in the UK, where it started, so you'll find the most riders there, but the app itself isn't limited to any region.
